Every family tree ring has a story
Spoak is a project designed by Dave Gottlieb, Eli Robinson and myself through the Interaction Design &#38; Social Entrepreneurship program at the Austin Center for Design. Spoak is an iPad app that evokes meaningful audio stories based on personal photos of artifacts, people, places and events.

Spoak was designed through insights gleaned from qualitative design research with people age 65 and up on their uses of technology.

This depicts the gradual "rounding" out of "square" society to one's project that has become part of the world. And it has become part of the world through learning from users and adapting to what they need. 		<description>Last fall I had the honor of working with a crew of fun collaborators to produce this look book of my scarves and Melissa Chapman's jewelry. Nicole Mlakar is the esteemed photographer (see link below) whose talent made it all seamless.

Austin provided the background for this exploration of the wilderness in all of us when we step outside of our offices and daily lives. Emerging into the bright sunlight and breezes outside, we become our truer selves.

Hides Series
Sumi-e ink, charcoal and gold ink pieces on watercolor paper. 
The Hides series are six works on paper inspired by the texture and materiality of jewelry inlay and leather work. This series is an exploration of textures through two-dimensional materials. This watercolor paper is curved for depth, and repeating strokes of matte charcoal over glossy black ink is carved through with gold lines to resemble inlay.
